In the last few weeks I have made a personal attempt to use Microsoft services as little as possible. This obsession with Copilot everywhere is just getting on my nerves.
I have been using Office 2024 Standard without a Microsoft account for a few weeks now and I am actually happy with it. This version has managed to do without Copilot so far. Unfortunately, after the last update, Copilot was integrated there too and it is annoying almost everywhere.
Admittedly, you can turn it off in the settings, but shouldn’t it be the other way around? Doesn’t Microsoft realize that with this compulsory feature they are driving away their long-standing older customers who just want to do things themselves?
I have also uninstalled OneDrive on my PC and use Google Drive with 2 TB of storage space for an annual price of €99.99. And what can I say, Google Drive is not at all annoying in daily use, as OneDrive was before.
On top of that, I use Windows with a local account.
Does Microsoft deliberately want to drive away its private customers from its compulsory service? Or what is the strategy behind this nonsense?
