Microsoft is making the consumer version of its free Copilot AI assistant more competitive today by dropping usage limits on its free Think Deeper and Voice features. Starting today, Copilot users have unlimited access to Think Deeper, which provides better reasoning capability powered by Open AI’s o1 model.
Microsoft made Copilot’s Think Deeper feature free to use a month ago, but the resource-intensive capability had daily usage limits. So did Copilot Voice, which let users have free-flowing conversations with the AI assistant.
“We are working hard to scale unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, starting today with Voice and Think Deeper. It’s worth noting you may experience delays or interruptions during periods of high demand or if we detect security concerns, misuse or other violations of the Copilot Terms,” Microsoft explained today.
Even though there’s now free and unlimited access to Copilot Think Deeper and Copilot Voice, consumers with a $20/month Copilot Pro subscription will continue to get priority access to the most advanced AI models during peak usage time. Additionally, Copilot Pro members get more usage tokens for AI features in Microsoft 365 apps, and they can also try experimental features via Microsoft’s Copilot Labs portal.
