Microsoft is expanding the testing of new AI features in Notepad, Paint, and Snipping Tool for Windows 11 to all channels in the Windows Insider Program. I assume the plan is to release these new app versions to stable sometime in the next month.
We wrote about the new Notepad and Snipping Tool features one week ago. We likewise wrote about the new Paint features this past Monday. Those features were are limited to PCs enrolled in the Dev and Canary channels at the time of their respective announcements.
Today, however, Microsoft updated its original blog posts to note that all these features are rolling out to PCs enrolled in the Beta and Release Preview Channels as well. So any Windows 11-based PC enrolled in the Windows Insider Program can now get the new app versions with these features.
Given the timing–Week D is next week and then the next Patch Tuesday is two weeks after that, it’s reasonable to expect these features to land in stable within a month.
