Microsoft Highlights New AI Experiences on AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs

Microsoft is slowly but surely starting to bridge the feature gap between Qualcomm-powered Copilot+ PCs and AMD and Intel-powered models. Today, the company announced that it’s rolling out Live Captions and new AI features in Paint and Microsoft Photos to Copilot+ PCs with AMD and Intel Chips.

These new Copilot+ PC experiences are available via the optional March 2025 update for Windows 11 version 24H2, which was released on Thursday. I already wrote about this update, but the release notes didn’t mention the availability of Paint Cocreator, Restyle Image and Image Creator across all AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs.

Microsoft did mention last week in the release notes that Live Captions were now available on Copilot+ PCs powered by AMD and Intel chips. This feature can provide real-time translations for video and audio into English from 40+ languages, and Qualcomm-powered Copilot+ PCs can also do that from 27 languages into Chinese (Simplified).

While Live Captions are all about improving accessibility, Paint Cocreator and Restyle Image and Image Creator in Microsoft Photos are about improving creativity. In Paint, Cocreator lets users describe what they want to create, optionally select an art style, and improve the AI-generated images with their own drawing abilities.

In the Microsoft Photos app, the Restyle Image feature can transform an existing image into an oil painting, a sketch, or apply a modern art style treatment to it. The Image Creator feature, however, lets users create images from a natural language prompt, similar to Cocreator in Paint.

To get these new AI features on AMD or Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs, you’ll need to download this month’s optional update, make sure to turn on “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” in Windows Update, and get the latest versions of the Paint and Photos apps from the Microsoft Store.
