Google Announces Made By Google Event on August 20

Google Pixel Event August 20

Google has just started sending media invites for a new Made by Google event on August 20 in New York City (via 9to5Google). Google teased “Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more,” in the announcement, and you can expect to see the company announce the Pixel 10 series during the event.

The company’s Made by Google event will kick off at 10 AM PT, and it will be live-streamed on YouTube. In addition to the latest Pixel phone series, Google will likely reveal the Pixel Watch 4, the Pixel Buds 2a, and maybe other accessories.

The Pixel phone lineup has become more complex in recent years: The Pixel 9 series currently includes the entry-level Pixel 9a, the “standard” Pixel 9, the high-end Pixel Pro and Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Pixel 10 lineup will likely stick with that formula, with the Pixel 10a likely coming in Spring 2026.

While new Google Pixel phones are coming very soon, Google has already released Android 16 last month. The major update introduces a new “Material 3 Expressive” design language, a new “Live updates” system inspired by iOS, and other minor changes. A new desktop mode for tablets is also set to come later this year.
