Nintendo has just announced price increases for original Nintendo Switch models and select Switch and Switch 2 accessories. The pricing update, which will go into effect on August 3, is based on “market conditions,” the company said today.
The upcoming price increases will affect all Switch models including the Lite and OLED versions, though the new pricing information isn’t known yet. While the brand new Nintendo Switch 2 won’t be affected, the company warned that that may eventually change.
“Pricing for the Nintendo Switch 2 system, physical and digital Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games, as well as Nintendo Switch Online memberships, will remain unchanged at this time. However, please note that price adjustments may be necessary in the future,” the company explained today.
Nintendo also published today its Q2 2025 earnings results and revealed that Nintendo Switch 2 hardware sales reached 5.82 million units since launch. During the same period, Nintendo Switch 2 software sales reached 8.67 million units (24.40 million units for Nintendo Switch software sales), while Nintendo Switch hardware sales reached 0.98 million units.
With over 3.5 million units sold in the first four days after launch, the Nintendo Switch 2 became the fastest-selling Nintendo console during its launch period. “In response to the strong demand that has surpassed our expectations, we are strengthening production to increase supply,” the company said in its earnings report. The company also plans to maximize software sales during the holiday season with the release of remastered Switch games and new titles from third-party publishers.
