OpenAI has just launched an affordable ChatGPT Go plan in India that provides higher usage limits for the chatbot’s main features. ChatGPT Go is priced at Rs. 399/month, and the subscription’s features are also available via WhatsApp, which has a big userbase in India.

According to Nick Turley, VP and Head of ChatGPT, ChatGPT Go offers “10x higher message limits, 10x more image generations, 10x more file uploads, and 2x longer memory compared with our free tier.” A support page for ChatGPT Go also mentions access to projects, tasks, and custom GPTs.

If ChatGPT Go offers more GPT-5 messages and higher usage limits for multimodal tools, access to legacy models like GPT-4o isn’t included. OpenAI’s Sora video generation tool is also not included with the new subscription, and ChatGPT connectors also won’t be available at launch.

Subscribers to the more expensive ChatGPT Plus and Pro plans will be able to switch to ChatGPT Go at the end of their billing cycle. At just Rs. 399 (approximately $4.60), this is OpenAI’s cheapest paid plan, and the company said that it’s working to expand access to Go for additional countries and regions. According to The Information, the company had 20 million paying subscribers in April.
