Adobe is bringing its Premiere video editing app to iPhones and iPads later this month. The app will be free to use and will offer a library a free creative assets, but generative AI features will require the purchase of Firefly generative credits.

“With Premiere on iPhone, we’re bringing that same creative power that filmmakers, designers, animators, and YouTube creators use to produce hit commercials, iconic music videos, Oscar-winning films, and viral content to the most convenient place to move from capture to publish: your phone,” Adobe said in the announcement. Videos edited with Adobe Premiere on iPhone and iPad will have no watermarks, and it will be possible to start projects on mobile and finish them on desktop.

Adobe Premiere on iPhone and iPad will support frame-accurate edits, unlimited tracks, studio-quality voice-over, automatic captions with stylized subtitles, and generative AI assets created with Adobe’s Firefly technology. The app will also support extending or replacing backgrounds with generative AI.

Adobe Premiere will become available on Apple’s mobile devices on September 30, but the app can already be pre-ordered from the App Store. Adobe said that an Android version is also in development, but there’s no ETA for its release yet.
