Gmail Adds New Purchase Tracking View

Gmail Purchase tracking view

As we’re quickly approaching the holiday season, Google is launching today a new purchase tracking view in Gmail. It will help users keep track of all of their purchases and upcoming package deliveries, and it’s starting to roll out today on the web and mobile.

“This will give you a bird’s eye view of all your upcoming package deliveries in one simple, organized list. Don’t worry — we’ll continue to show packages that are set to arrive within 24 hours at the top of your primary inbox, as well as in a summary card within your purchase emails,” the Gmail team said today.

Google is also planning to improve the “Promotions” category in Gmail with the ability to sort promotional events by “most relevant” as an alternative to “most recent.” The new filter will take into account senders and brands Gmail users engage with the most, and users may also see “Top deals for you” card at the top of the Promotional tab, highlighting promotion codes that are about to expire and other timely offers.

These updates to the Promotions tab in Gmail will start rolling out to Gmail users on mobile in the coming weeks. The new tracking view and more relevant promotions will only be available for Gmail users using the app with personal Google accounts, however.
