OpenAI’s Cheap ChatGPT Go Plan Launches in Indonesia

OpenAI ChatGPT

OpenAI has just made its cheap ChatGPT Go plan available in Indonesia after introducing it first on the Indian market last month. ChatGPT Go is priced at Rp75.000 per month (approximately $4.50) in the country, and it provides enhanced access to the chatbot at a cheaper price point than the existing ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) subscription.

ChatGPT Go currently offers extended access to GPT-5 with 10× higher message limits, 10× more image generations, 10× more file uploads, and double the memory for more personalized responses. Subscribers also get extended access to advanced data analysis with tools like Python, as well as custom GPTs.

“Indonesia is the second country where we’ve launched ChatGPT Go, after India — where total ChatGPT subscribers more than doubled since its launch a month ago,” said Nick Turley, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT on X. “It’s exciting to see the rapid adoption of AI in Indonesia, which is already one of ChatGPT’s top five markets by weekly active users.”

OpenAI still plans to expand access to ChatGPT Go in more countries and regions. However, as TechCrunch pointed out yesterday, the more affordable ChatGPT plan now competes with Google AI Plus, a Rp 75,000 per month plan that launched in Indonesia earlier this month. Google AI Plus provides expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro model, Gemini access in Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, more Audio Overviews in NotebookLM, video creation generation across Google’s Flow and Whisk apps, and 200GB of Google Drive storage. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft will also follow suit with a cheaper version of its Copilot Pro subscription.
