Microsoft is working to fix an outage affecting Azure and Microsoft 365 services. The company attributes the issue to a recent configuration change to its Azure infrastructure, and so far customers have been reporting issues with the entire Azure portal, Intune, the Microsoft 365 Admin portal, and more.
“Starting at approximately 16:00 UTC, we began experiencing Azure Front Door (AFD) issues resulting in a loss of availability of some services. We suspect that an inadvertent configuration change as the trigger event for this issue. We are taking two concurrent actions where we are blocking all changes to the AFD services and at the same time rolling back to our last known good state,” the latest update on the Azure Status portal reads.
Microsoft 365 services are experiencing downstream impact related to the ongoing Azure outage. Additional updates can be found on the @AzureSupport outage page: https://t.co/U4YACRcMAn. https://t.co/7T3bkBQEk5

Microsoft said that it doesn’t have an ETA yet for when the rollback to the last known good state will be completed. In the meantime, customers are invited to follow updates on the Azure status portal as well as the Microsoft 365 Status account on X.
This Azure outage is happening just a week after a global Amazon Web Services (AWS) breakdown disrupted various services, including Slack, ChatGPT, Zoom, Perplexity, Canva, Snapchat, and Epic Online Services. Ironically for Microsoft, these Azure issues are happening just a couple of hours before the company reports its FY 2026 Q1 results.
