Google announced that Workspace Studio is now generally available, giving businesses a way to automate tasks using AI agents that anyone can build themselves, with no coding required.
“Google Workspace Studio is the place to design, manage, and share AI agents in Workspace,” Google product director Farhaz Karmali explains. “Harnessing the reasoning power and multimodal understanding of Gemini 3, we’ve built AI automation that’s simple to use, deeply integrated into Google Workspace, and puts custom agent creation in the hands of every employee. With Workspace Studio, you can build agents in minutes to automate everyday work, from simple tasks to complex workflows, [with] no coding or specialized syntax required.”
Google tested Workspace Studio through its Gemini Alpha program and claims that customers automated over 20 million tasks in the past month alone. The goal here is to let anyone create an AI agent using pre-built templates and natural language instructions. For example, you could tell Workspace Studio, “If an email contains a question for me, label the email as ‘To respond’ and ping me in Chat,” and it will build an agent that you can then use, expand on, and share with your team.

As you should expect, these agents integrate automatically with Workspace apps and services like Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Chat. You can view their activities in the side panels of these apps, extend them to work with third-party services, and, if needed, have more technical users create more sophisticated routines using App Script.
Workspace Studio is rolling out now to Workspace business customers. You can learn more about Workplace Studio on the Google Workspace website.
