This week, Google announced a major update to its Google Labs AI experiment Mixboard aimed at users, creatives, and DIYers. Key among them is a Nano Banana Pro-based presentation generation capability.
“Mixboard is an AI experiment from Google Labs designed to help you explore, expand and refine ideas [that] offers a canvas for you to visualize different ideas using images or text,” Google Labs director Jaclyn Konzelmann writes. “Experiment with all kinds of projects, whether that’s a DIY project, a product design or the menu and decor for your holiday party.”
Google announced Mixboard back in September in the U.S. and then rapidly spread its availability to over 180 countries. New updates include:
Generate a presentation with Nano Banana Pro. Mixboard can now transform content from your main board into a presentation with configurable format, presentation focus, and visual styles.
New content starting points. Mixboard has supported starting a new project with a text prompt or a pre-populated board, and you could import your own images. Now, you can also add photos of yourself using a camera and doodle directly on images, and it supports more file types, including PDFs.
Larger boards, more boards. Mixboard now lets you create boards with larger canvas sizes, and projects that have multiple boards. “You can have different boards for different categories or themes,” Konzelmann adds. “For instance, a project brainstorming board, a board for odds and ends you come across while working and a board for your final vision.”
You can try out Mixboard for yourself on the Google Labs website.
