Spotify Can Now Reorder Playlists Using BPM and Key Information

Spotify Smart reorder

Spotify is launching today a new Smart Reorder feature that intelligently rearranges mixed playlists to create the smoothest transitions between tracks. The music streaming service uses BPM and key information to do its magic on playlists, but you’ll need a Premium subscription to try the feature.

“With one tap, this upgrade gives Premium users an easy way to rearrange mixed playlists with BPM and key. This helps your tracks flow even more seamlessly, never missing a beat,” the company explained today.

To be clear, Smart Reorder works on mixed playlists, which are a Premium feature that lets users add seamless and customizable transitions to their playlists. To try Smart Reorder, Spotify Premium members will need to tap ‘Mix’ on one of their playlists, then tap on ‘Edit’, and scroll down to find the Smart Reorder option. Tapping the button will automatically reorder tracks with bpm and key information, which is available for every track.

Spotify regularly adds new features to its Premium subscription, and Smart Reorder looks like a handy way to optimize playlists with seamless transitions. Earlier this week, the company also brought its AI-generated prompted playlists to four more markets including the UK and Australia.
