Samsung announced its Galaxy S26 series smartphones two weeks ago and now claims stronger than expected preorders. The phones arrive tomorrow, March 11.
“Following its debut at Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy S26 series is generating an enthusiastic response from consumers,” Samsung says. “The Galaxy S26 series introduces Samsung’s most advanced and intuitive capabilities yet, including the world’s first smartphone Privacy Display built into Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is driving the most interest in social media conversations.”
Most of the early impressions from the tech press and bloggers were middling because of the meager hardware updates Samsung is providing with this generation of Galaxy S-class phones. But Samsung says that hasn’t dulled enthusiasm from actual customers: Pre-order volume is up almost 25 percent compared to the Galaxy S25 series last year, and 80 percent of preorders are for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Indeed, most of the excitement seems to be around the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Privacy Display that is unique to that model. Samsung says that the Privacy Display is “driving the most interest on social media,” while AI-powered camera features like Nightography, Generative Edit, and Super Steady horizontal lock are also driving views.
If you are interested in preordering a Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+, or Ultra, today is the last day to get up to $900 off with an eligible trade-in. You can do so on the Samsung website.
