Google has started rolling out a new ‘AI Enhance’ tool in its Photos app for Android. The AI-powered feature can automatically improve how pictures look by adjusting light and color, though Google said that “output varies by device.”
AI Enhance initially launched on Pixel devices, but Google said it’s making it available worldwide. Android users will find this new tool from the app’s photo editor, along with other AI-powered features such as Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur.

As spotted by 9to5Google, the Google Photos app on Android now lets users change the playback speed of videos. Google quietly announced the new feature in a community page update, and the team said that this has been a top-requested feature.
Google continues to work on new AI features for its Google Photos app, but the new ‘Ask Photos’ experience, which lets users search for photos using natural language prompts, received a poor reception and can now be disabled. The ability to edit photos just by asking what you want to change is also available as an experimental feature for 18+ users in the US, and it will soon be rolling out to eligible users in more countries.
