
Microsoft’s Outlook.com email service is experiencing an outage today, and many users may struggle to access their inbox. The company acknowledged that users may “experience intermittent sign‑in failures, including “too many requests” errors or unexpected sign‑outs.” This may also affect iOS users who added their Outlook.com account to Apple’s inbox apps.
The company acknowledged the outage five years ago, and I also experienced sign-outs on my Apple devices. The company said that it was analyzing service telemetry to identify mitigation actions, and you may want to check out updates on Microsoft’s Service Health Status portal for the latest updates.
The company is also sharing its latest findings on the Microsoft 365 Status account on X. The following message was posted 2 hours ago: “Upon reviewing service telemetry further, we’ve identified an unexpected increase in error rates affecting two separate error scenarios. We suspect this may be contributing to creating impact, and we’re conducting additional analysis to confirm this.”
