Netflix Redesigns its Mobile App With New Vertical Video Feed

Netflix Clips vertical videos

Netflix is redesigning its mobile app and adding a new “Clips” feed of TikTok-like vertical videos. The new Clips feed will be used to promote Netflix content you may like, and you’ll be able to add promoted films and TV shows to your watch list and share clips with your friends and followers on social media.

Netflix described Clips as a feature as “a personalized highlight reel that helps you decide what to watch or play next, without endless scrolling. You’ll see short clips from series, films and specials tailored to your tastes, with an easy way to go deeper when something grabs your attention.”

The new Clips is launching first in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa, with other markets to follow in the coming months. At launch, mobile users will only see short clips from series, films, and specials, but Netflix already plans to add podcasts, live programming, and curated collections in the future.

In addition to this new Clips feed, Netflix’s redesigned mobile app moves the search icon to the bottom navigation bar, and it also puts a bigger list of content categories at the top, including podcasts. This new UI follows the launch of a redesigned TV experience last year.
