PlayGround Games Details Forza Horizon 6’s Xbox Performance and Loyalty Rewards

Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 is available for pre-loading on Xbox and PC ahead of its early access release on May 15, and developer Playground Games detailed today the game’s performance targets on Xbox consoles, as well as loyalty rewards for Forza players. Unlike the previous episode, Forza Horizon 6 won’t be released on Xbox One consoles, but there will once again be Quality and Performance modes on Xbox Series X and Series S.

On Xbox Series X, players will get to choose between a native 4K/30FPS Quality mode and a dynamic 4K/60FPS Performance mode. On Xbox Series S, the Quality mode targets 1440p at 30 FPS, while the Performance mode targets a smooth 60 FPS at 1080p. Both modes will use a dynamic scaling to reach their performance target, however.

On Xbox consoles, Forza Horizon 6 will require at least 130GB of available storage, which increases to 160GB on PC. PlayGround games also noted that an SSD will be required to play the game on PC.

While early Access will begin on May 15 for players who purchase the game’s Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, the game will be released on Xbox and PC globally on May 19. The following cars will also be awarded to players of previous Forza games after completing the Tokyo City introductory race:

  • Forza Motorsport 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray
  • Forza Horizon 5 2021 Mercedes-AMG ONE
  • Forza Horizon 4 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan
  • Forza Horizon 3 2016 Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4
  • Forza Horizon 2 2014 Lamborghini Huracán LP-610-4
  • Forza Horizon 2013 Dodge SRT Viper GTS

Forza Horizon games are known for their great music soundtracks, and Forza Horizon 6 will feature no less than 9 radio stations. Playground Games detailed the tracks that will be included in the Horizon Bass Arena and Horizon XS radio stations, and the full track selection will be released over the coming days.

Forza Horizon 6 will be the first big Xbox game to be released under the new leadership of Asha Sharma, who recently promised a “return to Xbox.” Forza Horizon 4 and 5 both received a 92 score on Metacritic, and it will be interesting to see if the latest game in the series will achieve the same level of critical acclaim.
