Taken

I was browsing the Interwebs this morning and saw that Miguel de Icaza has posted a link to Taken, a webpage on Since You Arrived that explains exactly what your web browser is telling every site on the Internet and how that can be used to easily fingerprint you.

In my case, I was using Helium, a privacy-and security-focused Chromium browser, and with AdBlock, Privacy Badger, and uBlock Origin extensions enabled.

It said it had collected 34 data points and that in 91 seconds it “identified your device with enough specificity to distinguish it from most others on the internet.” I got the same results with Chrome, go figure, basically the same configuration.

Ye Gods.
