Samsung Launches Qualcomm-Powered Galaxy Book6 Edge

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Series of laptops that launched earlier this year with Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs is welcoming a new Qualcomm-powered model, the Galaxy Book6 Edge. The 16-inch laptop is powered by a Snapdragon X2 Elite chip, and it also offers 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage for $2,099.99.

The Galaxy Book6 Edge is the successor to the Galaxy Book4 Edge from 2024, which used Qualcomm’s first-gen Snapdragon X Plus chip, and also had a smaller 15.6-inch display. “Galaxy Book6 is designed to support the next generation of AI-powered productivity experiences. It expands the possibilities of mobile productivity by combining powerful AI capabilities with Samsung Galaxy’s trusted and premium computing experience,” Samsung said today.

The 80 TOPS NPU on the Snapdragon X2 Elite model enables new AI features such as AI Select, which lets users highlight content on the screen, get translations, remove objects from images, and more. It’s also possible to use natural language prompts to find content across Quick Search, the Samsung Gallery, and Samsung Settings apps.

Other features like Storage Share and Nearby devices also make it easy to connect to other Galaxy devices and access their photos and files. Samsung’s Multi-Control feature also enables seamless copy, paste, and drag-and-drop between Galaxy devices, while Second Screen can extend the Windows desktop on the Galaxy Book 6 Edge to a Galaxy Tab Android tablet.

On the hardware front, the Galaxy Book6 Edge offers a slim and light profile at just 0.48 inches thin and 3.42 pounds. The laptop comes with a 16-inch AMOLED display with a 2880 x 1800 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an anti-reflective coating. There are also quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, two USB-C ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, one USB-A port, a built-in microSD slot, and a fingerprint reader.

The laptop also supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, and its 61.8 Wh battery offers up to 22 hours of video playback. Samsung says that it can reach up to 40% capacity in about 30 minutes.

The $2,099.99 Galaxy Book6 Edge is only available in a Gray Blue color, and it’s available for purchase exclusively on Samsung.com. It’s not possible to configure it with more than 16GB of memory and less than 1TB of storage, however.
