Google’s Gemini Spark Agent Expands to More Countries and Adds New Chrome Features

Gemini Spark, Google’s personal AI agent that first shipped to AI Ultra subscribers in the US, is now available more broadly. After rolling out to AI Pro users in the US a week ago, Gemini Spark is now available for paid subscribers in over 160 new countries. In the US, the AI agent can also do more in Google’s Chrome browser.

“We’re taking Spark’s web browsing capabilities even further by integrating directly with Chrome. Now, with your permission, Spark can use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords to handle tedious web errands, like scheduling viewings for apartments you’ve saved or researching flight options and starting the booking process,” Google explained yesterday.

Gemini Spark is now integrated with auto browse in Google Chrome. With your permission, Spark can handle web tasks for you right in your Chrome browser, like scheduling apartment viewings or auto-filling flight info.

Google said that this deeper Chrome integration comes with additional safeguards to protect users from prompt injections. Online payments and other sensitive actions will also require human validation.

Gemini Spark can perform complex tasks in the background and connect to third-party apps if necessary. However, for people who don’t want to pay for this agentic AI experience, Google has started introducing more advanced features to its Gemini app for Mac, which now has natural language and reasoning capabilities with screen context. This allows Mac users to speak into any active window and ask Gemini to execute various tasks, including actions that require information from local files.
