Samsung Announces Another Galaxy Event on August 27

Samsung announced another Galaxy event on August 27, which will be live-streamed on the company’s YouTube Channel at 8 AM ET. This is coming a little more than a month after the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, where the new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 foldable phones were revealed.

This new Galaxy event will be dedicated to “the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family,” and this will likely be a more affordable « Fan Edition » (FE) version of the company’s flagship Galaxy S26 model. Samsung teased in the announcement that the new phone is “designed to bring many Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them.”

The Galaxy S26 series, which includes the standard S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, launched back in March, with the base Galaxy S26 starting at $899.99. Last year, Samsung released its more affordable Galaxy S25 FE in September with a $650 starting price.

Due to the ongoing memory and storage crisis, the Galaxy S26 FE may well get a bit pricier, as did Google’s new Pixel 11 series that just started shipping today. However, Samsung is usually more aggressive than its competitors with its trade-in offers and pre-order bonuses for new hardware.
