Google AI Subscribers Can Try New Voice Features in Gmail, Docs, and Keep

Google is starting to roll out new voice features in Gmail, Docs, and Keep for Google AI subscribers. Gmail is adding support for conversational search, which will allow users to find a specific email by just asking what they’re looking for.

In Google’s note-taking app, Keep Live will let Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers just describe what goes through their head, and Google’s AI will be able to refine it into an organized note with actionable tasks. “Keep’s new voice feature understands your stream of consciousness and processes it in the background, turning your thoughts into structured lists and notes without you having to type a single word,” Google explained yesterday.

In Google Docs, the new Docs Live will work similarly and transform an unstructured brainstorming session into an organized document. With users’ permissions, Docs Live will also be able to pull information from Gmail, Google Drive, Google Chat, and web information to create a more detailed draft.

Unlike Gmail Live and Keep Live, which are rolling out to all Google AI plans, Docs Live will be restricted to the Pro and Ultra tiers. The new conversational features also aren’t available yet for Google Workspace business customers, but the company is already working to change that.
