Qualcomm announced a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) through which the two will build a next-generation AI datacenter infrastructure.
“As AI demand accelerates, datacenter infrastructure will require advances in both computing and connectivity to deliver greater performance with more efficiency,” Qualcomm president and CEO Cristiano Amon said. “Qualcomm is pleased to work with AWS on customized silicon and connectivity solutions, bringing decades of leadership in advanced processing and power-efficient compute, to deliver breakthrough performance and enable the next generation of AI infrastructure.”
The two companies are collaborating on multiple generations of next-generation infrastructure that will include customized silicon and advanced optical connectivity solutions for high-bandwidth interconnects within Amazon’s datacenters. Qualcomm also said that it will deepen its use of the AWS AI infrastructure, including Amazon Bedrock.
“This collaboration with Qualcomm builds on a strong foundation of partnership and reflects our shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” AWS vice president Prasad Kalyanaraman added. “By working together on customized silicon and advanced connectivity, we’re delivering more performant, efficient, and cost-effective infrastructure for our customers.”
