Samsung’s One UI 9 Starts Rolling Out to the Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung is rolling out its new One UI 9 experience to Galaxy S26 users today, bringing new creative tools, customization options, and more. The company’s custom Android 17 experience has been available in beta on the Galaxy S26 series since May, and it’s also available out of the box on the new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8.

“One UI 9 builds on familiar Galaxy experiences to help users complete everyday tasks in fewer steps, with context-aware suggestions, timely creative prompts, and improvements to translation, scanning, and recording,” Samsung explained today. The new Now Nudge feature will display context-aware suggestions across apps like Google Messages and Google Chat, allowing users to access reservation details and other relevant information without leaving the app they’re using.

Other Samsung apps such as Document Scan and Voice Recorder are also getting more useful, with the latter getting the ability to create structured notes with headings and tables. Samsung’s Creative Studio app will also suggest that users generate themed images with AI ahead of important events such as friends’ birthdays.

The My FanCam feature, which debuted on the latest Galaxy Z Fold series, can also automatically track a selected person in a video to keep them in the center. Now Brief, Samsung’s personalized briefing feature on Galaxy phones, is also becoming more customizable with new generative and editable cards with information about weather, health, and other topics that users can choose.

Samsung’s One UI 9 also brings device support and protection information directly into the Settings menu, and there are new AI-powered privacy alerts to warn users about potential privacy risks on their devices. Lastly, Samsung is expanding the availability of its native Spam Detection feature to Japan, Canada, and India.

Samsung’s One UI 9 will be rolling out gradually to other Galaxy devices. Some features such as Now Brief, My FanCam, and Now Nudge require a Samsung Account login.
