Pixel 6 vs. 10a: Five years ahead, but is performance about the same?

The Pixel 10a appears to be similarly priced to the Pixel 6, but both phones have 8 GB RAM. (Although there are other Pixels with 12 or 16 GB RAM, but not for $500 like the Pixel 10a.)

Any thoughts on whether, despite the same 8 GB RAM, the 10a (2026) would be a meaningful upgrade performance-wise from the 6 (2021)? Because if it’s just marginal, then maybe as long as my Pixel 6 is still working it’s better to hold off another couple years in hopes of a more future-proof $500 Pixel?

While my 6 hasn’t become less responsive over the years, I’m wondering if that’ll remain the case over the next 5 years for either the 6 or 10a. Anyone here who upgraded to a 10a and can give insight?

(I know the Pixel 10a camera is better, but the Pixel 6 camera is just fine for me anyways.)
