Forza Horizon 6 finally has a release date on PlayStation 5, but it won’t come to Sony’s console in 2026, as developer Playground Games previously said. The open-world racing game will be coming to PlayStation 5 consoles on January 26, 2027, with early access starting on January 21 for players purchasing the $119.99 Premium Edition.
“Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 will support cross-platform play and cross-save with the XBOX and Steam versions of the game,” Playground Games said yesterday. “In addition, all UGC is also cross-platform, which means PlayStation 5 players can enjoy a massive collection of community-created content from day one, including EventLab races, Prefabs, Garages and Estates, as well as Liveries and Tuning Setups.”
The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 will launch alongside the game’s first expansion, which will be included with the game’s Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Expansions Bundle. Playground Games will share more details about this first expansion closer to its release, but a free content update will also be available for all players on January 21. A second DLC will be coming later in 2027.
Forza Horizon 6 received critical acclaim when it was released on Xbox and PC back in May 2026. The previous game in the series, which was released on PS5 in April 2025, won numerous awards and consolidated the series’ status as one of Xbox’s tentpole franchises. However, Sony will likely have the best console version of Forza Horizon 6 thanks to its more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro and DualSense controllers with haptic feedback.
