Newton Mail, formerly known as CloudMagic, was a popular email client that shut down back in August 2018. The shutdown of the email client was a surprise to many users, most of which were paying customers.
It is, however, making a surprise comeback today.

As reported by 9to5Mac, Newton Mail is now back on the App Store for iOS devices. The app is also back on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 devices, and on the Google Play Store for Android.  Newton Mail, or the founder of the app, CloudMagic, are yet to officially announce the return of the app. They did mention the comeback, though, stating “We are thrilled to be back. If you still have your Newton account, just log in using your Newton username and password.”
So why did Newton Mail return after the shutdown months ago? As you may remember, Essential — yes, the smartphone maker — acquired CloudMagic back in December. At the time, the company said it’s looking to create “new and innovative projects” under Essential, and it seems like the return of Newton Mail is part of the plan.
Thanks for the tip, Mohammad!Â
