Microsoft Announces Build 2018 Dates, Registration Opens February 15

Update: Microsoft has now confirmed the dates for Build 2018. This year, Build is happening between May 7th and 9th in Seattle. Registration opens February 15, full conference pass costs $2,495.

Original story follows below.

Microsoft usually announces dates for its annual developer conference Build in December. This year, however, the company hasn’t announced any details for Build 2018 as of yet.

Today, a new leak from Microsoft enthusiast WalkingCat shows off what seems to be the invite for Build 2018. The conference will start on the 7th of May and finish on the 9th in Seattle. Keep in mind that Microsoft is yet to officially announce the dates for Build 2018, and although WalkingCat’s leaks are almost never inaccurate, you are probably better off waiting for the official announcement before making any bookings.

The timing of Build 2018 is interesting mainly because of the fact that Google’s annual developer conference I/O is going to happen around the same time as well. Google’s conference starts on the 8th of May and finishes on the 10th, so it’s going to be a really busy (and exciting) week for tech blogs and journalists.

At the moment, we obviously don’t know what exactly Microsoft is going to talk about at Build this year. But going by the recent trends, the company will likely have a huge focus on AI and Mixed Reality. We’ll also get to know more about the next update for Windows 10, codenamed Redstone 5, at the event. Once we get closer to the date we’ll start having more details on the conference, so stay tuned.
