Microsoft 365 Personal subscription prices increasing 46% to cover AI costs

This sounds pretty awful if true. Microsoft is increasing the price of a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription from $109AUD to $159AUD citing AI costs but there appears to be a way to avoid the increase – by cancelling the subscription. When you cancel Microsoft offers an option to continue with a “Microsoft Personal Classic” subscription for the current price without the AI features.
