PUBG is Coming to Xbox One on December 12

Microsoft announced today that the eagerly-awaited shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is coming to Xbox One as a console launch exclusive on December 12 through the Xbox Game Preview program.

“Beginning December 12, Xbox fans will be able to play PUBG while it’s still in early access through the Xbox Game Preview program,” PUBG’s Chang Han writes on the Xbox Wire blog. “We’re approaching development on Xbox One with the same community-driven focus that we’ve taken with the game on PC. As a result, the ultimate battle royale experience that fans play on Xbox One will be slightly different than what players know today on PC.”

So it will run well, then? But I kid.

The 1.0 version of the PC version of PUBG will launch alongside the Xbox One version on December 12. But the two versions won’t be aligned, feature-wise on day one. PUBG plans to fix that over time.

If you’re not familiar, PUBG has taken the PC shooter world by storm, though I find the game to be a bit tedious as it only supports a single mode, and if you get killed once, you’re out of the game. Hopefully, the game will improve over time: More and smaller maps would help. So would more game types.

<p>I listen to Paul's advice on many things. Gaming definitely isn't one of those.</p><p><br></p><p>PUBG doesn't need smaller maps or more modes. That's what COD is for.</p><p><br></p><p>Half the fun is being in this giant map and never actually knowing when you might run into someone and have to fight for your life with your limited equipment.</p><p><br></p><p>Different locations would be nice and a second map is already in the works.</p>

<blockquote><a href="#212400"><em>reply to Rycott:</em></a><em> – agree, and the whole point of PUBG is that it is a big map at first, that then gets smaller and smaller. If the map was smaller already, well then you would not have time to find any resources, weapons etc, and you would be dead withing seconds</em></blockquote><p><br></p>

<p>I am not a PC gamer, but I am pretty sure there are 3 game modes. Single player, 2 player teams and 4 player teams. I would consider that 3 modes. Now it doesn't have CTF or Hard point, agreed, but it still looks like a blast to play and there is more than one option for game play. </p>

<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">"and if you get killed once, you’re out of the game"</span></p><p><br></p><p>that should be encouragement to GiD GuD, I personally never really saw the point of killing the same person over and over and over like in COD, if you die, stay dead. This game allows for a much better last man standing</p>
