Sony Reveals Gorgeous New Limited Edition PS4 Pro to Celebrate 500 Million Sales

Sony’s PlayStation has officially crossed more than 500 million sales. The company today announced that it has sold 525.3 million units of PlayStation. To celebrate the huge milestone, the company is launching a new limited edition PS4 Pro.

The 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro comes with a gorgeous new design, featuring a translucent dark blue console shell. Sony is also releasing a special edition of the DualShock 4 controller with the limited edition console, although you will be able to buy it separately if you want. The company is selling a limited edition Gold Wireless Headset to go with the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro separately as well.

The limited edition PS4 Pro looks absolutely gorgeous from the inside out, with the translucency giving it a unique look. Even the packaging of the device is translucent and matches the design of the limited edition console. Some lucky buyers will also get their consoles engraved with special serial numbers that commemorate important events of PlayStation, said Sony.

Customers will be able to buy the new limited edition PS4 Pro on August 24, starting at $499.99. The console comes with 2TB of storage and Sony has only made a total of 50,000 units for the entire world, so you will need to be really quick to have a chance of grabbing this beaut. The DualShock 4 controller ($64.99) and the Gold Wireless Headset ($99.99) will be available later, sometime in early September from select retailers in the United States and Canada.

I just wish it had backwards compatibility with PS3 games. When it came out, I figured if I'm buying a new console without being able to use any of my old peripherals or games, I might as well check out Xbox One. Still tempted though, we'll see when it comes out.
