I’m a few days behind, sorry, but here’s a look at the free games that Xbox 360 and Xbox One users can get through the Games for Gold program, which rewards Xbox Live Gold subscribers. This month, Microsoft returns to a more typical schedule—after a blockbuster April—with one game for the Xbox One and two for Xbox 360.
Actually, Xbox One users do have access to two free games: one of last month’s offerings, Pool Nation, is still available throughout May as well.

Here’s what Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get for free this month:
CastleStorm: Definitive Edition for Xbox One
Available for the entire month and normally costing $14.99, CastleStorm: Definitive Edition is “a genre mash-up that combines medieval warfare with 2D physics-based destruction. It features a story-driven single-player campaign, a custom castle editor, online multiplayer and co-op modes, and more.”
Mafia II for Xbox 360
Available from May 1 to May 15 and normally retailing for $19.99, Mafia II “puts you in the shoes of Vito Scaletta, an Italian immigrant to America who finds himself wrapped up in an increasingly complex series of criminal plots in post-World War II America.”
F1 2013 for Xbox 360
Available from May 16 to 31 and normally costing a whopping $49.99, this is clearly the marquee game for the month. “F1 2013 features all the cars, drivers and circuits from the 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship plus all-new classic content from the 1980s.”
Game on.
