Try Xbox One X For Yourself Starting This Weekend

Not convinced that Xbox One X is the real deal? Well, you can find out for yourself starting tomorrow. Assuming, that is, that you live near a Microsoft retail store or other participating location.

If you do, Microsoft is going to let you experience Forza Motorsport 7 in all of its 4K/HDR glory, running on Xbox One X.

“Experience firsthand the gorgeous graphics of Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One X,” Microsoft’s Mike Nelson explains. “Forza Motorsport 7 immerses players in the exhilarating thrill of competitive racing. Built from the ground up to be UHD at 60 frames per second and true 4K resolution in HDR, Forza Motorsport 7 will be the premiere 4K gaming experience. This is Forza reimagined.”

It looks like Best Buy will have demos in addition to Microsoft’s own stores, and GameStop is coming soon too. I recommend taking a look.

Didn't know there doing the demo's at the Microsoft stores. Good thing I live near one, because the only Bestbuy having the demo is too far away. It's nice Microsoft is doing this. I pre-ordered a Scorpio edition, but still undecided about it since I bought an S last year.

In reply to Jester:

I did an HTC Vive demo in a micosoft Store and it was great. Lots of space. The employee was super helpful. My sons PC couldn’t handle the Vive at the time. For me VR seems awesome, for my son it really seems to be community around the game that matters. Which is why I think people who are already Xbox owners will upgrade, but PlayStation and PC gamers, despite how much better Xbox X is, won’t switch. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I see the MS hype machine is in full swing. Funny though, when MS realised the original XB was inferior in performance to the PS4, they went very quiet as they had to find a new pitch. Now they just can't shut up about the 'worlds most powerful console'. Yep, told you it was a p*ssing contest.

So now its Microsoft turn since they have an advantage. Frankly, I never really saw much difference in graphics even though the PS4 had a better gpu. It will be interesting to see if the xbox will show that much of a difference against the PS pro.

LOL. What's there for me to try? Watching TV and listening to music. This thing brings no added value to our home, and the nearest Microsoft Store or Best Buy is over 150 miles away. No, thank you.

In reply to Rob_Wade:

How about playing games. That is its primary use. If you don't play games, then a Home theater PC might be a better solution. The fact that you live in an area that doesn't even have a Best Buy is on you. Best buys has almost 2000 stores nationwide. If they don't have one near you, then you probably live in a sparsely populated town.

Power is not going to be the issue for the Xbox One X.

For most people, most likely current Xbox One users, this looks to be a big upgrade. However, from what I am hearing price is going to be an issue with the unit at $500.

For $500, one can buy an Xbox One S AND a PS4.

I know the Xbox One X is being sold out, but ever since the Surface Pro 3 debacle, Microsoft has conveniently been selling out quite often. Is this a matter of coincidence or by design? LOL…I was laughing at the Surface Pro 3 debacle, especially when Microsoft stated that they made too much. I think that ever since that happened, Microsoft has been shortening their production of their products…on purpose.

All in all, I know the graphics in the Xbox One X will be great. However for $500, i doubt that it will be that GREAT. For $500, the graphics has to be so super awesome to justify the upgrade for both Xbox One S and/or Playstation 4.

One thing is for sure. I doubt anyone will write an open letter to Microsoft begging them to lower the price, like some stay at home bloggers do for the latest Google Pixel. *wink* *wink*

People don't use an xbone 24/7 as the centerpiece to their lives like a smartphone.

And xbone has no real exclusives to speak of. The library is abominable.

The "games" argument is a sad one brought up by salty ponies.

I have a PS4, it collects dust. Xbox Live network (lag, group chat etc) > PSN 8 days a week.

In reply to Bats:

How much would an equivalent desktop PC cost? I bet it would be more. Plus, buying the Playstation and One S would get you 2 console that play mostly the same games and both would give you much lower graphics. If you are going to get a Playstation, might as well get the Pro since it will be future proof for a little while.
