Xbox One S and Xbox One X are Both on Sale

Microsoft announced a new pre-summer sale on Xbox One S and Xbox One X today, effectively shaving $50 off the normal price of each.

“Whether you’re playing games, watching your favorite shows through entertainment apps like YouTube, Netflix, or streaming gameplay on Xbox Live, the best community of games, the Xbox family of devices has you covered,” Microsoft’s Mike Nelson notes. “Watch 4K Blu-ray movies and stream 4K video on both Xbox One S and Xbox One X with brilliant graphics, HDR technology, premium audio, and experience immersive true 4K gaming on Xbox One X — the world’s most powerful console.”

The sale starts Sunday, May 13 and runs for two weeks. But each console is only on sale for one week each.

The Xbox One S sale runs from May 13 to May 19: All Xbox One S bundles—the Xbox One S PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (1 TB) bundle, Xbox One S Starter Bundle (1 TB), whatever—will be $50 off during that time period.

From May 20 to May 26, the Xbox One X will be on sale, with each customer getting a $50 gift card with their purchase from participating retailers. This gift card is good for game purchases and other content from the Microsoft Store.

The worlds most powerful console with the worlds most nonexistent exclusives.

If MS ever addresses their firstparty problem and drops the X below $400 I might give it another look. Meanwhile PS4 Pro gets arena blockbuster after blockbuster – God of War is simply amazing.

A $50 gift card to the Microsoft store and calling that a "sale" seems more sarcastic than anything. Not going to move the needle.

WOW! Xbox One is always on sale! I wonder if this sale was planned or if it is a reaction to the EA Report that the PS4 demolished Xbox One. I think it's like 75 mil to 30 mil? I guess this means that the Xbox One X was total failure and did not move the needle one bit!

I remember when Paul talked about the Xbox One S and Project Scorpio, he had so much excitement in his voice he said (and this is a direct quote) "THIS IS WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE!!!"

What happened?

I just can't be convinced to put money down on a new Xbox. We use our Kinect a lot. Microsoft has nothing to replace it's functionality on the newer Xboxes. Also, we don't have a 4K television and can't stomach the thought of tossing our perfectly good 2yr old 1080p television just to get that capability. Besides, we'd also have to replace our current satellite receiver with not one, but three newer devices at significant cost just to get the ability to watch in three rooms that we currently can accomplish with only one device.
