If you preordered Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for Xbox One, you can now download a beta version of the game and experience multiplayer for the first time.
As you may recall, this beta launched first on PlayStation 4 last weekend, and PS4 gamers can now enjoy a second long weekend of multiplayer mayhem. But this is new to those of us who prefer the Xbox One, so here’s what you can expect.

First things first: YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE INFINITE WARFARE BETA FOR XBOX ONE HERE.
You do this from your PC, and the game will be added to your available games list on the Xbox One. So head to your console, navigate to Games & Apps and then Ready to Install, and you’ll see Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta in the list. It’s a 20 GB download, so give yourself some time. (It’s also separate from full Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare game title, which will be many times bigger than that as well.)
For Xbox One users, the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta runs for just three days: Today, tomorrow, and Sunday. (It actually opened early, last night. But whatever.)
The Beta encompasses just some multiplayer experiences, so you won’t be able to see the single player experience (no big loss) or access Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered if you purchased a version of the game that includes that perk. And you did. I know you did.
As for those multiplayer experiences, they’ve improved since the initial beta release on PS4 a week ago: We get access to five maps now: Frontier, Frost, and Throwback, which were the original three, plus Precinct, which was added partway into last week, and then the remake of the fan-favorite map Terminal. There are four game types available: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Defender, and Frontline. (PS4 users also get Kill Confirmed, so maybe that will be added over time.) And there are three available combat rigs: Warfighter, Merc, and Synaptic.
I’ve stuck to Team Deathmatch and the Warfighter rig. But I always play Kill Confirmed Hardcore normally, so I’ll switch to that when the game really launches early next month.
Have fun!
