I reported this last week, and I got a response a few days later that they suspect that it is false positives in a Spam filter causing this, and that they are investigating it.

Best way to get issues fixed I think is to report it through Contact -> Email for Help/support

In reply to JudaZuk:

Thanks, I'll do that. Funny it seems to happen only when I'm commenting in a subthread that I've already commented in.

Also the comment number at the top of the article doesn't match what's at the bottom. For example on the XPS 13 2-in-1 review, right now it has 7 at the top but only 5 at the bottom. Seems like these should match!

In reply to evancox10:

That's because one of my comments has disappeared! But it was clearly logged, because it's reflected in the number. Guess it's a hard computer science problem.

In reply to Brad Sams:

It happens on multiple threads, but I'll send an example to [email protected]. Thanks.

I reported the problem through support yesterday, and so far, no response. And some comments are still disappearing.

Not sure if it's related, but I had the same problem a few months back. I ended up opening a support ticket directly with Akismet as none of the support options available here could help — although they were trying to be helpful. A day after opening my support ticket with Akismet, the problem was resolved.
