Microsoft is testing a new feature for Office on phones this week. The company rolled out new updates for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Android and iOS with support for @mentions, and that’s about it.
Support for @mentions has been available for Office on the desktop for a little while, and it’s really helpful when you are working on something with others. The feature essentially allows you to @ someone in a document to get their attention or direct a comment at them, much like how you’d reply to someone within a chat, for example.

@mentions for Office on Android and iOS works a lot as it does on the desktop. On Word and PowerPoint, you can @mention someone anywhere in a document or presentation, and on Excel, you can @mention someone within comments.
The feature is being tested with Office for iOS version 2.21 and Android build 16.0.11231.20010 with Office Insiders in the Slow Ring. It’ll likely roll out to everyone else in the coming weeks.
