Today, Microsoft released Edge version 84, adding some minor improvements to Collections, PDF support, and more. The update arrives about two months after Edge 83, which was a more momentous release that brought extension sync and automatic profile switching to Microsoft’s web browser.
A warning. As is so often the case with Microsoft software updates, Edge 84 is being rolled out progressively so that Microsoft can limit the impact of any issues that might occur, so you may not see this update immediately.

Here’s what’s new:
Collections improvements. Collections picks up a new note capability so that you can add a note or comment to an item in a collection. And there are major performance improvements, too.
PDF improvements. You can now use Read Aloud with PDF files. And you can now save an edit made to a PDF back to the original file instead of having to save a copy.
Immersive Reader improvements. The Immersive Reader now supports language translation capabilities.
Full mouse support in full-screen mode. Now you can use your mouse to access tabs, the address bar, and other items without having to exit full-screen mode as before.
Online purchase improvements. You can now configure nicknames for saved debit and credit cards, making it easier to choose the correct card when using autofill to select a payment method.
PWA features. Microsoft Edge can now access the Storage Access and Native File System APIs.
There are a few more new features, but you can check the release notes for the details.

Another app I never knew anyone actually use!)

We'll be switching all users in our enterprise to the new Microsoft Edge… just making sure their bookmarks, favicons and history get imported OK (we have the saving of usernames and passwords disabled in Google Chrome via Group-Policy, and you cannot sign into the browser with a Google Account, so nothing to worry about there).

No-point using Google Chrome when the new Edge will render sites the same, and will-likely offer better-performance and battery-life over-time, given Microsoft are making it for their own OS.
