Ending this week with a fun question and a serious one: Have you played a game using XCloud on the Duo yet? and the serious question: can you actually create a doc with the Surface Duo as fast as you could with the Surface Mini?

Hey Brad! Any news about the Surface Neo? When is that coming?

Brad,

What games coming out around the Series X/S launch do you know for sure will be "enhanced" to take full advantage of it? It seems even Valhala and Cyberpunk are both saying enhancements will come later next year. What will we be able to play that we can say was designed to take advantage of the new hardware?

Also, do you think there is anything to the rumor that Microsoft has Cyberpunk on gamepass for it's launch, but they have not announced it yet?

What is Edinburgh?

Hey Brad, Very interesting week with all the Xbox news. I understand all the excitement behind the Series S, huge value for the price. My understanding from the inside the Series S video, is that the Series S renders at 1440, but has a separate chip to handle the upscaling to 4k. Obviously, this is different from rendering at native 4k, but functionally, in trying to decide on a purchase on the 22nd, if you already have the 4k UHD HDR setup WITHOUT HDMI 2.1, are we really going to see a 200 dollar difference in experience?

Two questions for ya this week Brad

1. How do you decide when to leak a major piece of news like the XSS images and pricing vs waiting for Microsoft or any other company to announce/your embargo lifting? Do you worry that by leaking something as big as images and pricing (unlike something small like codenames) hurts your relationship with corporate PR and your ability to get review units and press releases ahead of time?

2. Now that you leaked (and Microsoft confirmed) the XSS pricing, do you think that's what put pressure on Microsoft to announce XSX pricing when they did before Sony, and if so how does it feel knowing you're the one that forced their hand?

F the haters, you had this scoop from the start. Well done.

Will Xcloud be playable on the new Xbox Series consoles? The reason why I am asking is because of the 512ssd on the series S. When games in the 100gb range and the ability to download hd or uhd media those could take up a lot of room. If you have xcloud with game pass you have a lot more games at your fingertips and not have to wait hours to download them.

My other questions is in regards to Flight Sim. Will it be on Xcloud? Will it be on Xbox One Systems? I can run it on my gaming computer but it could use some upgrades to keep up with that sim. If it is going to xcloud it will help me stave off an upgrade.

I have a SB2-15inch and I absolutely love it. However, what with the Surface Laptop being a great device, the Surface Neo being delayed for 10X, and the Surface Book itself coming up to a 4th iteration, I'm wondering what role the Book actually plays and how it should evolve.

It seems to me the role of the Surface Book would be better served by splitting into two groups:

Surface Laptop & Surface Laptop Pro (workhorse 'traditional' productivity devices with a new Pro variant that can really push higher TDP CPUs/dGPUs)

Surface Book & Surface Book Pro ('next-gen' dual-screen devices, i.e. a Lakefield-based Neo plus an Intel U-series laptop-sized brother)

QUESTION: Brad, where do you think the Surface Book line is going?

PS. If they made the Surface Book dual-screen, it would be cool if they renamed the Surface Duo the Surface Booklet

From the Series S reveal video, Microsoft said that they're getting studios to target 4K60 on Series X then scale down to 1080/1440p60 profiles for Series S.

Will the series S hold the generations' visual fidelity and density back, considering game developers could have used the PS5 and Series X horse power to make more dense detailed games at 1440p and have those upscale to 4K, instead of native 4K

Hey Brad. The school I work at is looking at investing in a class set of Surface Studio devices for use as a digital media laboratory for students, but we're cautious about buying now given the current Studios are 2 years old. Any rumours circulating that we might be seeing a Surface Studio refresh inside of the next 6 months?

Hey Brad, looks like Surface Duo has lots of bugs and many reviewers have complained about it as well. So, here are my questions.

1) Bugs are due to Microsoft's well known shipping policies of "ship now fix later" ?

2) Do you agree when I say "it feels like many bugs are due to Android itself"

3) Will Microsoft resort to yearly upgrade or stick to their own schedule for new iteration of Duo?

4) Will Microsoft ever achieve Duo's full potential given Android is by Google & without forking, MS might not ever reach its goals?

Thanks Brad & love you & Thurrott's perspective every day.

A slew of Duo questions, sorry :)

1) Factoring inflation the Palm Tungsten T launched at $715 in 2020 dollars, what do you think Microsoft could cut for the Duo to cost $800 or will it forever be so expensive it has to replace your phone?

2) Is there any way to find Duo Enhanced apps? Is it flagged in the Play Store or does Microsoft keep a list?

3) If an enhanced app is made for the Surface Duo will it also be fancier on folding phones like the Galaxy Fold?

4) When will the Duo get Android 11?

5) If you get mobile data on the Duo does it cost the same as a smart watch or a smart phone?

6) Can you pair 2 headphones with the Duo and have 2 people watch 2 separate Youtube videos in Tent mode?

Thanks!

Probably too late.

After reviewing the Duo, do you think it would have made more sense as a Windows 10X/RT/Mobile device? I understand the reasoning for Android, and closing the App Gap, but since most apps do not take advantage of the form factor, and the form factor doesn't really work as a phone, would they have been better off using their own OS and including Continuum?

How is the Duo as a content consumption device? I guess is good to read a book but what about watching video? How disturbing is the hinge in the middle?
