Microsoft’s Moon Studios says that its graphically stunning platform adventure title Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be optimized for the new Xbox consoles. And get this: It will provide 4K graphics at 60 frame-per-second (FPS) on the lower-end Xbox Series S.
“We are right around the corner from the Xbox Series X launch and are thrilled to bring you a new update today that not only includes a huge upgrade for the Xbox Series X, but also updates for everyone to enjoy on all platforms,” Moon Studios announced on its website. “Ori and the Will of the Wisps is coming to your screen like never before: Look out for the update coming to your device and enjoy another playthrough of Ori in a brand-new way!”

On Xbox Series X, Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be 4K locked at 120 FPS, with an optional 6K super-sampled mode at 60 FPS outputting in 4K HDR, the firm says. On this console, Ori will provide the highest graphics and visual effects settings, instant input response, faster loading times, and high-fidelity audio with increased dynamic range and convolution reverb for ambiances, the studio says.
But the more surprising news, perhaps is how well Ori will run Xbox Series S. On this console, gamers can choose between 1080p HDR locked at 120 FPS or 4K at 60 FPS, Moon Studios says. The game will also provide instant input response, faster loading times, and high-fidelity audio with increased dynamic range and convolution reverb for ambiances.
I’ll take a look at this title on Xbox Series S this week.
