Stardock has announced Fences 4, which provides new features, a refreshed user interface, and support for Windows 11.
“Fences 4 is being designed to meet the needs of today’s PC user,” Stardock CEO Brad Wardell said. “Fences has always been a great way to show a clean desktop or to organize it and now we are adding features that allow users who want a minimalistic desktop to have that while also supporting users who use the desktop as a natural extension of their workspace.”

For those unfamiliar, Fences is a utility that lets you stay organized by automatically placing your shortcuts and icons into fences, which are resizable shaded areas on your desktop. Fences are highly customizable, can be rolled up to save desktop space, and can be toggled with a double-click.
For Fences 4, which is now available in alpha, Stardock is adding Windows 11 compatibility, virtual desktop support, enhanced search features, roaming profiles, and more. And a new Fences for Business offering will help administrators lock their entire desktop layout for kiosks and use a Snapshots feature to replicate layouts across multiple devices.
Fences 4 is available via Stardock’s Object Desktop suite. You can learn more here.
