The latest version of the Vivaldi web browser for desktop adds editable toolbars and new reset to default options in settings.
“One of our core beliefs at Vivaldi is that users want to customize,” Vivaldi co-founder and CEO Jon von Tetzchner writes. “And to give you a fully customizable user interface, we’ve opened up even more possibilities for you to create a browser that’s uniquely yours.”

Key among those is editable toolbars, which is exactly what it sounds like: an expansion of the browser’s previous toolbar customization mode that gives users full control of their toolbar layouts. You can drag components to the toolbars, rearrange them, or remove them by dropping them in the background area. Vivaldi now lets you customize the navigation bar, status bar, and all of the toolbars for the different Mail views. And you can reset the currently selected toolbar back to the default at any time.
Speaking of resetting back to the default, there is also a new reset to default button in every section of Vivaldi settings so that you can go back to the original browser settings at any time.
Finally, Vivaldi now supports syncable search engines across desktop, Android phones and tablets, and cars.
You can download Vivaldi 5.3 for Windows, Linux, and macOS now from the Vivaldi website. The Android version was also updated with two-level tab stacks, syncable search engines, and more. You can learn more here.
