Dashlane Supports iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia with New Features

Apple will release a new Password app in iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, but as Dashlane reminds us, there are better choices. And for these releases, the password management provider is offering a set of new features that make its offering even more compelling.

“To truly address the credential crisis, we need to ensure people are secure everywhere they are signing in from, not just a single ecosystem,” Dashlane senior vice president Jon Cho says. “People work and collaborate across various platforms, devices and even using various types of credentials, all while expecting simple and secure access no matter where or how they’re signing in. We consistently hear from our customers how critical it is that Dashlane seamlessly works across any platform, any device, at any time to secure all of their credentials. And that they’re able to securely share their passwords, regardless of platform. In fact, the vast majority of our users have Dashlane on multiple platforms.”

Dashlane is updating its password manager on iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, both of which arrive next week, with several new features. It will simplify 2FA (two-factor authentication) generating, storing, and automatically filling 2FA verification codes on these platforms. It will offer autofill directly from the Edit menus in iOS 18 for more seamless sign-ins on non-standard sign-in pages. And it will support automatic passkey upgrades when a website or app upgrades your account to support this feature.

But the central promises of Dashlane, like those of other high-quality password managers, remains: It works wherever you are, and not just in Apple’s ecosystems, and it offers a far wider range of functionality than does Apple Passwords, even for those who stick with Apple products. Among other things, Dashlane users can choose whether they create a password or a passkey when signing in to a website, doesn’t require the use of a master password, and offers enterprise controls for businesses.

“Securing people online is complex, and Dashlane works everywhere they’re logging in from—every credential, every app, every device at work and at home—from the Apple ecosystem and beyond,” Cho adds.
