.NET 9 Arrives Next Week With .NET Conf 2024

.NET Conf 2024

Microsoft today issued a reminder that .NET Conf 2024 is next week, coinciding with the release of .NET 9 to stable.

“As we approach the highly anticipated .NET Conf 2024, scheduled for November 12-14, it’s time to prepare for an event that promises to be both informative and engaging,” Microsoft’s Jeffrey Fritz writes in the announcement post. “This free, three-day virtual conference will showcase the latest advancements in the .NET platform, open-source projects, and developer tools.”

You can watch .NET Conf 2024 for free from the .NET Conf website, but it will also be available on YouTube and Twitch. And it will be recorded, so if you miss the live stream, you can catch up later on the .NET YouTube channel.

On Day one–November 12–Microsoft will issue .NET 9, and you can expect a keynote and live sessions from the .NET team describing all the major new features and changes in this release across .NET Aspire, AI Building Blocks, C#, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, .NET MAUI, and more. Day two will feature a deeper dive into .NET with specialized sessions, including a 24-hour continuous broadcast to accommodate global participants. And on Day three, the continuous broadcast continues with a diverse range of sessions from speakers worldwide. The full agenda is on the .NET Conf website.

Microsoft is also offering attendees some digital swag that includes fun .NET 9 wallpapers for Windows and Teams. And attendees can enter to win one of 25 physical swag bags, each valued at over $5,000 and containing software licenses, t-shirts, gift cards, and more. There are also 25 grand prizes, each worth $500 or more, from the show’s external partners. To find out more, register on the .NET Conf Swag page.

I’m always excited for a new .NET release, but thanks to this year’s resurrection of WPF with the addition of Windows 11 theming, this is a particularly big year for me personally. Once .NET 9 is out, I’ll wrap up my Modernizing .NETpad (2024) series and post the final source code to GitHub.
