Google is raising the price of its YouTube TV base plan by $10/month today. New subscribers will now need to pay $82.99/month instead of $72.99, and the new pricing will start applying to existing subscribers on January 13, 2025.
YouTube TV previously saw its price go from $64.99/month to $72.99 in March 2023, so we’re looking at a $18/month price increase in less than two years. As expected, many subscribers expressed their disappointment in reaction to the post announcing the news on X/Twitter.
A message for our members: we have always worked to offer the content you love, with features to enjoy the best of live TV. To keep up with rising content costs, we’re updating our monthly price to $82.99/mo. (1/3)

“We have always worked to offer the content you love, with features to enjoy the best of live TV. To keep up with rising content costs, we’re updating our monthly price to $82.99/mo,” the YouTube TV team explained on X. “We don’t make these decisions lightly, and we realize this impacts our members. With many exciting shows and live events coming up in 2025, we remain committed to bringing you the best of TV, all in one place. Thank you for being a loyal member.”
The YouTube TV base plan will continue to include 100+ channels, unlimited DVR storage, up to 6 accounts per household, and 3 concurrent streams. New subscribers can also pay $59.99/month for their first 3 months with a limited-time offer, or try the service for 10 days for $0.
YouTube TV was a pretty good deal when it launched at just $34.99/month in 2017. However, price increases were inevitable as Google added more channels to the service. Subscribers can get more channels by paying for optional add-ons, including the NFL Sunday Ticket currently priced at $379 for the 2024 season. Google also offers a $9.99/month 4K Plus add-on that unlocks unlimited simultaneous streams at home, the ability to watch recordings offline, and support for 4K streaming on select content. Last year
