Proton Pass for Business Updated with SSO, More

Proton Pass for Business

Proton announced today that its Proton Pass for Business offering now supports single sign-on (SSO) and password generation rules.

“One of the easiest ways for a business to prevent cybercrime is to ensure all its employees use secure logins for all their accounts,” Proton’s Son Nguyen Kim writes. “For everyone using Proton Pass Professional, we’ve made single sign-on (SSO) available. Logging into business accounts requires just one identity verification and a few clicks for every employee.”

Proton Pass for Business is tailored for teams of users managed by admins who add and remove users, monitor activity logs, and create policies to protect company data and establish security standards. It offers 2FA authenticator capabilities, streamlined sharing, Proton Sentinel always-on security, and other tools that businesses expect.

With this update, Proton Pass for Business gets SSO capabilities so users can sign in to multiple websites using a single set of login credentials. Proton has guides for setting up SSO, setting up SSO to work with Microsoft Entra, and setting up SSO to work with Google Workspace.

The product was also updated with password generation rules, so admins can enforce rules for all passwords saved in employee Proton Pass accounts. There are rules for minimum and maximum character length, numbers, special characters, upper case, and memorable passwords.
