
Microsoft today issued two builds to the Release Preview Channel in the Windows Insider Program, one for Windows 11 version 23H2 and one for Windows 10. So it’s reasonable to expect these new features and changes to appear in preview updates in Week D, on March 25, and then in cumulative updates on the next Patch Tuesday, April 8.
For those with a Windows 11 version 23H2-based PC enrolled in the Release Preview Channel, KB5053657 will update that PC to build 22631.5116. Key new features and changes include:
- Text scaling support in File Explorer
- Context menu labels in File Explorer
- Settings home page on managed commercial PCs
- Top cards in the About page in Settings
- Gamepad keyboard layout for the touch keyboard
- New Emoji and more icon in the system tray in the Taskbar
- A change in how Task Manager calculates CPU usage
For those with a Windows 10-based PC enrolled in the Release Preview Channel, KB5053643 will update that PC to build 19045.5674. Key new features and changes include:
- Noto CJK (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) font support
- Improved discoverability for Windows Search improvements in the EEA
- Updated country and operator settings assets in Mobile Operator Profiles
- A change to where system processes store temporary files that reduces the risk of unauthorized access
- Fixes to File Explorer thumbnails, Remote Desktop troubleshooters, and printing
