Spotify Brings its AI Playlist to Premium Users in 40+ New Markets

Spotify AI Playlist

Spotify is making its new AI Playlist available for Premium users in more than 40 new markets today. The feature lets Spotify Premium users create a playlist by just describing the type of music they’d like to listen to, but it remains in beta and only in English.

The new AI Playlist first launched in the UK, Australia, the US, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand last year. The list of 40+ new supported markets includes countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, and you can find it on Spotify’s blog post.

“Since AI Playlist in beta launched last year, Premium users have used it to create millions of playlists, with the goal of finding music that fits any mood or moment,” the company said today. “Just start with a simple idea like “high-energy electropop that takes me to another world” or “workout music to make my ex jealous.’”

To create an AI Playlist, Spotify Premium users just need to go to their library in the mobile app, tap the “+” button at the top-right corner, then select “AI Playlist.” The app will show prompt suggestions based on users’ listening habits, but getting started is as simple as typing an idea and refining it along the way. The Spotify team recommends mentioning specific genres, moods, or artists to get more relevant results.

Spotify’s AI Playlist remains in beta, and the company said that it’s “still actively learning and iterating with each exchange.” The feature will also continue to roll out to more markets over time.
